Our Unique Middle School Experience

In 6th through 8th grade, students grow into lifelong learners. Middle School at Holy Trinity is unique because our students grow as role models for our younger grades and gain leadership skills as they grow. Academically, our middle school students become independent learners, critical thinkers, and leaders in our close-knit Preschool-8th grade school family.

Academics

Middle school students develop a biblical worldview, learn to defend their faith, build real-world problem-solving skills, and are prepared for high school, college, and beyond. A rigorous curriculum develops time-honored skills like research, writing, and public speaking blended with 21st century applications and integrated STEM.

We measure each student’s academic progress using the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) standardized testing system. With MAP data, we can create a growth plan for each student. By the time our students reach 8th grade at Holy Trinity, they consistently exceed the national average on the Measures of Academic Progress standardized tests. These scores demonstrate the strength of our curriculum, the dedication of our teachers, and the hard work of our students.

Athletics

Middle school sports allow students to develop their skills while building teamwork, discipline, and Christian sportsmanship. Students may compete in extracurricular soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, cheer, and track and field.

The Arts

Music and Drama
MIddle school students experience a rich fine arts curriculum that includes music and visual arts. Students may also sing in the choir and take piano, guitar, violin, or band instrument lessons and have opportunities to lead in worship and perform in concerts and recitals.. Drama gives students a chance to shine on stage.

Forensics Team
Students develop their public speaking skills and compete in prose, speech, storytelling, and poetry.

Student Leadership and Activities

Student Council is the Holy Trinity’s student leadership group. StuCo members model servant leadership and find their voice to lead change. As Chapel Buddies and Reading Buddies, middle schoolers mentor younger students. Academic competitions such as spelling bees allow students to test their knowledge. An art fair showcases students’ creativity. Field trips extend student learning beyond the classroom, giving students opportunities to learn about their world, challenge themselves, and serve their community.

“By nurturing both faith and knowledge, their teacher is shaping confident, capable young people who are prepared to succeed in school and to live out strong Christian values in their daily lives.”
